The Good People

We don't often meet good and kind people in our life. However, if you are given a chance to meet one, consider your encounter with the good Samaritan a blessing. I'm blessed to meet one and I'm really thankful and glad that he helped me in my time of needs. Two weeks ago, when I'm coming back after my finals, on my way to the airport KLIA2, I fell asleep in the bus and I didn't make my stop at KL Central, instead my bus continue it's way to Pudu Raya. By the time I woke up and realize about it, it was too late. Gosh, God knows how nervous I'm at that time. I know I can still catch a taxi at Pudu and go to Central but it was around 11.30 pm almost midnight, so the taxi fare will cost more than usual. There was this Indian guy sitting in front of me in the bus. He was kind enough to tell me how to get to KL Central in the cheapest way possible. We were at Pudu at that time and he offered to send me to Masjid Jamek LRT station where I can embark on the LRT to go to KL Central. By using a motorcycle, he sent me to the station. I was having a one hand carried luggage and another big luggage with a laptop bag behind my back. Just imagine how it's possible to fit in all these on a motorcycle. He put the big luggage in front of his motorcycle and I have to carry another one. Imagine how to difficult it is to ride the motorcycle with a big luggage in front of the bike. I was really touched by his willingness to help me. Arrived at Masjid Jamek, he even sent me in and teach me how to go to Central. Honestly, I never used a LRT before so I don't really know how to buy that token to get on the LRT. Lol. Well, he helped me again. Luckily, with his help I'm able to get on the LRT and went to Central in time.
I am really thankful for his help. Thinking about it, he really inspired me to help others as well. I will always pray for him. We don't often meet good and kind people in today's society. But sometimes, God send a few angels in human suit to help out people in distress. To that Indian guy that helped me, I may not know your name, but I know that one day if I'm given the opportunity to meet you again, I will definitely pay for the kindness that you've shown. May God bless you always.

What To Do On Rainy Days

It has been raining non-stop for a few days. Luckily there's no flood at my hometown here. But what to do on a rainy day?
For me, if it was raining when I'm waking upon that particular day, I will just resume my sleep and lay in my bed with my cozy blanket wrapping me. That's, perhaps, was the best thing to do during a rainy morning, where the weather is just perfectly cold enough. So I'm going to resume my journey in my wonderland. Buh-bye and good sleep.

Yayy!! But Why??

Yayyy!! Finally my final examination for my second year, second semester is over. Initially I thought I will be very eager for the finals to end. However, as I'm sitting in front of my Red Delly (my laptop's name), I'm feeling really down. The rain outside only make it worse by kicking in more emotional feelings inside me.I don't know what's the reason for it. I feel like I wanna be at 'home at this very moment. I don't feel like staying here for another night. Seeing all my friends, other students having their parents coming over to fetch them, I'm totally filled with jealousy and envy. I believe students like me, from Borneo, Sabah and Sarawak, totally feel it.Nevertheless, just one more night, and I will be on the route of going back home. Home is where the HEART is.

Well, just remind yourself of this. Sometimes, it's okay to not be okay.

Hello 2015

2014 is a year that I would not label as a great year for me, as I have some really bad and terrible memory and experience this year. However,  I'm still very grateful for everything that I have. Those bad experience, bad memories are going to make me a better person, make me stronger.
I believe 2015 will a great year. For now I know, I'm the only one that can define whether or not it will be a great year for me. I promise myself to achieve more in 2015. I'm gonna post new year's resolutions soon. Stay tuned. Goodbye 2014. Hello 2015.

#Pray for QZ8501

2014 has been one of the most unfortunate year for our country Malaysia. No one in Malaysia will argue that 2014 has been one of the most trying years in our nation’s history, with tornadoes, floods, haze, downed flights, scandals, dengue and literally every wrath you can possibly imagine. Before we all can settle down from those previous crisis, a new one will come up. The missing flight QZ8501 is our latest crisis. The flight of AirAsia from Subrajaya to Singapore went missing on 28th December 2014. With 162 on-boards (155 passengers and 7 crew members), my deepest condolences to their family. Let's us pray that QZ8501 will be found soon. GOD bless.

I'm really impressed with how Tony Fernandes handle the crisis of QZ8501. He showed his personal brilliance, calmness, compassion and commitment to resolve these horrible crisis. This is why I idolize him so much. Here you can read why I say so:

Unlike our prime minister, there is so much to be learned from him. My last wish before 2014 ends," Let's hope that QZ8501 will be found in no time and on board are in safe condition."

International Student Sports Carnival (ISSC) 2014 - A Great Experience

International Students Sports Carnival is a sports event where several participating universities send their athletes/students to take part in various sports competition held. It's kinda like a inter-varsity competitions for sports but it's for international students in Malaysia, with several locals participants are allowed. There are many competition held such as indoor rowing, badminton, volleyball, road relay and football. It was held at UNITEN. This is my first time representing my university (University Technology of PETRONAS). Overall, it's a great and a very valuable experience for me. My event was indoor rowing four relay for male. Well, if you don't know what's that, go Google about it. I trained for about two months. I was introduced to this by one of my international student course mate.  Man, I gotta say that I'm really loving this piece of machine (indoor rowers). It's good for cardio training and doesn't has any impact on the knees.
So much fun form ISSC 2014. Not only the fun, I meet a lot of awesome people too.

Upon our arrival at UNITEN. See that, we are from University Technology of PETRONAS.

This is it, "Indoor Rowers"
Selfie with my fellow rowing brothers.
Flexing some biceps. Duh, I gotta lift more to make it looks more menacing.
At the opening ceremony. Holding our Uni flag. *I looks stupid here*

Since we are staying at rekro sentral, not gonna miss the rekro night market there, or what we call " pasar malam"

This is kinda random. Some guys in the pictures are from other events, but we are from UTP, so random pichas.
With my course mate that also participated in ISSC 2014

Yeap, we won the first match and advanced into the finals.
Again, we made it. UTP was the champion indoor rowing 4 relays for male (p.s. I'm in one of the man relay rowers.) and came in second in man single 2000m.
Me and the machine and the gold. Look at my proud face, ahaha
University Technology of PETRONAS is the overall champion. Our contingent win 5 golds, with a total of 11 medals won.

My First 21 km

Today, I ran the first 21 km in my life. I joined UTP Step Up Challenge 2014 for the category of 21 km Half Marathon. 21 km is by far the longest distance run that I have joined so far. The run started around 6.30 a.m. and damn it, I slept until 6.05. So I brush my teeth in a hurry and have few sip of my Dymatize Whey Protein shake with added Quaker Instant Oatmeal. Seems like I am immune to my alarm now, coz they don't even work for me anymore. And I set it like around 8 times. Then I rushed to the starting point of the run. Luckily I made it in time, as the run was supposed to start at 6.15 a.m.

To be honest, this is my shirt after the run, soaked in my sweat. Not gonna wash it coz that the smell of satisfaction.

Then we started to run, The participants were not that much. Everybody was running at ease, except our friends from Africa. They are basically rookie Usain Bolt, Well, they deserve it, The top three place was win by all of them.

I have the perfect satisfaction after finishing the run. It is a new milestone I've achieved. To my surprise, I was able to finish the run as top 10 runners. I was the 8th runner to finish the run. However, to my disappointment, there are no any special acknowledgement for the top 10 runner as all the first 60 runners get the same medal an certificates. Although you finished at top 10, you still gonna get the same things the 60th runner get. Never mind, at least, I know about it. Perhaps it's because I was wearing a red undies during the run, and hence the lucky number, 8. Now that I have finished my first 21 km, I'm going to challenge myself to go for extra miles. Peace out.
